Our coaching pathway is in line with the New Zealand Football (NZF) standards and is structured to support coaches as they progress in their coaching careers. The Otumoetai Football Club Coach Education Pathway
At Otumoetai Football Club, our Coach Education pathway is designed to ensure coaches at every level have the tools and training they need to succeed. Whether you are just starting your coaching journey or are an experienced coach looking to further develop your skills, our pathway offers a range of certifications and educational opportunities. We also provide specialized coaching tracks, such as goalkeeper training, to cater to the diverse needs of our members.
We are proud to offer coaching development that spans all age groups, ensuring that coaches can provide developmentally appropriate training at every stage.
With New Zealand Footballs new NZF Learn Platform Coaching course can now be partly done online! This makes it easy for you to do these in tyour own time at home when you have the chance and then to complete the qualification you will need to attend a practical session. Once this has been attended you will gain the certificate.
Coaching Courses:
- Fun-damentals of Junior Coaching Award: Tailored for coaches working with 4-9-year-olds, focusing on foundational coaching principles.
- Junior Level 1 Coaching Award: Designed for coaches of 9-13-year-olds, emphasizing skill development and game understanding.
Junior Level 2 Coaching Award: Designed for coaches of 9-13-year-olds, emphasizing skill development and game understanding. - Youth Level 1 Coaching Award: Geared towards coaches handling 13-19-year-olds, addressing advanced coaching strategies.
- Youth Level 2 Coaching Award: Geared towards coaches handling 13-19-year-olds, addressing advanced coaching strategies.
- Senior Level 1 Coaching Award: Geared towards coaches handling 17+ addressing advanced coaching strategies.
Refereeing Courses:
- Game Day Leader Award: For volunteers assisting in leading game days for 4-9-year-olds.
- Mini Football/Futsal Refereeing Award: Suited for those officiating 9-13-year-old matches.
- Youth & Community Football/Futsal Refereeing Award: Aimed at volunteers refereeing youth or senior community games.
- Referee Level 1 Award: For individuals aspiring to become qualified referees, covering essential theoretical knowledge with a required practical component.
To access these courses, visit the NZF Learn platform, register for your chosen course, and complete the online modules at your convenience. After finishing the online portion, you'll need to participate in a practical module to complete the certification.
These courses are ideal for volunteers, coaches, and referees aiming to deepen their understanding and improve their contributions to the sport.
