A message from our departing President

To all our members, friends, sponsors and associates of Otumoetai Football Club.

It is with mixed emotions that I am informing you that I am standing down, as of the end of this season, as President of OFC.I want to thank everyone of you for all your support and encouragement that I have received in the last three seasons, and it has been an honor and privilege to have been in this position.A club this size relies on volunteer support, and it’s been an awesome experience to see the young players, their families, coaches and supporters turn up on Sat morning at such an amazing venue to make Fergusson Park come alive-it’s a truly special time andI believe like no other in the bay.Seeing the young (and older) helpers running around and helping out at the bbq and taking pride in their club is very rewarding. I will missthe chat around the BBQ and the 5-6km (on average) that I end up doing on a sat morn! I will need to find a way to replace this.

I want to thank our staff (Alicia, Joe and Jack) who tirelessly work to make this club tick over, alongside the amazing committee that volunteer their time to help guide and navigate to support our staff - I could not have done this without all of you, so thank you!
There have been many highlights over the last three years, and it will be a challenge to walk away and fill that gap, as this club has been a huge part of mine and my family’s life for 20 years.I encourage you to feel like you belong to OFC and feel that this is your home, as there is always the opportunity for you to lend your support in roles of various descriptions - just head on down there and have a chat with the team - it will bealways appreciated, and the rewards will be evident.
I feel confident and happy to leave the club in such good hands and hold great hope for the future of this club.

I have a career opportunity across the ditch in Australia that I will be heading to at the beginning of October and am looking forward to the next challenges, adventures and learning that lay await.I look forward to the opportunity to return from time to time to say hi.
